Privacy Policy
PlayGenus ("PlayGenus", "we", "us", "our") is established in the Republic of Bulgaria (European Union) and provides explainable game analytics — churn predictions, retention and LTV forecasts, and ROAS analysis — to game studios and developers (each a "Customer"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit playgenus.com, sign up for a PlayGenus account, integrate our SDK or API, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Service").
PlayGenus is a data processor in respect of the player telemetry submitted by Customers; the Customer is the data controller of that telemetry. PlayGenus is a data controller in respect of Customer account information and website analytics on playgenus.com.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Customer account information
When a studio creates a PlayGenus account or joins the Founders Program, we collect:
- Email address of the account owner and any invited team members
- Studio / company name and (optionally) game name
- Information submitted via our onboarding questionnaire (game genre, mechanics, monetization, key events) for SDK tailoring
- Billing details when applicable (collected and processed by our payment provider; PlayGenus does not store card numbers)
1.2 Player telemetry data submitted by Customers
When a Customer integrates the PlayGenus SDK or API into their game, we receive behavioral event data about end users of that game (the Customer's players). This data may include:
- Session metadata (start, end, duration, device platform)
- Progression events (level completed, tutorial steps, screens viewed)
- Monetization events (purchases, currency balance changes — without payment instrument details)
- Engagement events (custom events defined by the Customer)
- A pseudonymous player identifier chosen by the Customer (typically a random UUID — not a real-world identity)
- Device information (OS version, device model, locale, app version)
PlayGenus does not require personally identifiable information (PII) about end users to operate the Service. Customers are responsible for ensuring that player identifiers and any custom event payloads they submit do not contain PII (such as real names, email addresses, government IDs, or precise geolocation). Customers must obtain any required consents from their end users before submitting telemetry.
1.3 Website usage data (playgenus.com)
When you visit our marketing website, we may collect:
- IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL
- Pages viewed, time on page, navigation paths
- Form submissions (Founders Program signup)
We use a minimal set of first-party cookies and may use privacy-respecting analytics for this site itself.
2. How we use information
- To deliver, operate, and maintain the Service
- To generate predictions, dashboards, and insights for the Customer's account
- To tailor the SDK and event schema to the Customer's game and genre
- To communicate with Customers about their account, billing, support, security, and product updates
- To improve the Service, debug issues, and develop new features
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
3. Aggregated and anonymized data
PlayGenus may use Customer telemetry in aggregated and de-identified form (i.e., data that cannot reasonably be linked back to any individual end user, Customer, or game) to:
- Train, fine-tune, and improve our machine-learning models
- Generate genre-level benchmarks and industry insights
- Publish summary statistics and research
Each Customer's raw, identifiable telemetry is segregated and is never shared with another Customer. Customers may opt out of having their data contribute to aggregated model training at any time by contacting us.
4. Sharing and disclosure
4.1 Sub-processors
We share data with carefully selected service providers (sub-processors) who help us operate the Service, under contractual obligations of confidentiality and data protection. Current categories include:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud / Firebase)
- Email and transactional messaging (for product, security, and support communications)
- Form-submission backend for our Founders Program signup (Web3Forms)
- Error monitoring and performance analytics for internal debugging
- Payment processing, when applicable
An up-to-date sub-processor list is available on request: support@playgenus.com.
4.2 Legal disclosures
We may disclose information when required by applicable law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, and the safety of others.
4.3 Business transfers
If PlayGenus is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice before any such transfer becomes effective.
4.4 We do not sell personal information
PlayGenus does not sell personal information in the sense defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or comparable laws.
5. Data retention
Customer account information is retained for the duration of the account, plus a reasonable period after termination for legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes. Player telemetry is retained for the period agreed in the Customer contract or until deletion is requested by the Customer. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.
6. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Logical segregation of each Customer's raw telemetry
- Role-based access control with least-privilege principles
- Audit logging and monitoring
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and ask that you notify us promptly of any suspected breach.
7. International data transfers
PlayGenus operates from the Republic of Bulgaria (European Union). Transfers of personal data within the EU and EEA do not require additional safeguards under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Where sub-processors store or process data in countries outside the EU/EEA — including the United States and the United Kingdom — we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), adequacy decisions where they apply, and supplementary measures where required.
8. Your rights
8.1 Customer (studio) rights
Customers can access, export, correct, or delete their account information and their players' telemetry at any time by signing in to app.playgenus.com or contacting support@playgenus.com.
8.2 End user (player) rights
Players whose telemetry is processed via a PlayGenus Customer should direct privacy requests (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection) to the operator of the game they play. PlayGenus will assist the Customer in fulfilling such requests in accordance with the Customer's data processing agreement.
8.3 GDPR (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act.
Because PlayGenus is established in Bulgaria, our lead supervisory authority is the Commission for Personal Data Protection (Комисия за защита на личните данни, "CPDP"):
- Address: 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., 1592 Sofia, Bulgaria
- Website: cpdp.bg
- Email: kzld@cpdp.bg
EU/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in their country of residence.
8.4 CCPA / CPRA (California)
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. PlayGenus does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
9. Children's privacy
PlayGenus is intended for use by game studios, not children. Many games served by our Customers, however, may be played by children. PlayGenus does not knowingly collect PII about children. Customers whose games are directed at or knowingly used by children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent age in their jurisdiction) are responsible for complying with applicable children's privacy laws (such as COPPA, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and similar regulations), including obtaining verifiable parental consent and configuring PlayGenus accordingly.
10. Cookies and tracking on playgenus.com

11. Third-party links
Our website and product may link to third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. Please review their policies separately.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active Customers via email or in-product notice at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a shorter timeline is required by law.
